London Directory

There is something about life in London that is addicting. These are a collection of my discoveries, my rookie mistakes and other musings here as I go along. Be sure to also check out this Pinterest board a few lovely fellow bloggers and I have been curating with our favorite London spots.

Dining

Noble Rot (Bloomsbury – where to eat if you want to feel like you are eating in France. Wonderful wine list. Great place to take your family or a date.)
Blixen
(Old Spitalfields Market – hands down my favorite brunch place in London)
Dishoom (Indian – far and away the Kings Cross interior is the best and you’ll have half the wait)
The Thomas Cubitt (Belgravia – great gastro pub on the gorgeous Elizabeth Street)
The Salt House (St John’s Wood – another great gastro pub – I fell for their pumpkin gnocchi)
Duck & Waffle (City – ALL THE VIEWS)
B&H Buildings (Finsbury – Hard to define their menu but they have the loveliest interiors. A mean brunch
Maggie Jones’s (Kensington High Street – traditional English – great interiors –  a place to take your parents or a date!)
Canela Cafe (Soho – wonderful Portuguese cafe)
Polpo at Ape & Bird (far and away my favorite Polpo location just off Shaftsbury Avenue – sharing plates of delicious Italian food at a remarkably reasonable price)

Pubs & bars
The Holly Bush (hidden in a tiny lane in Hampstead – my favorite pub in London)
The Booking Office (St Pancras Station – impressive interior, great wine menu)
The Zetter Townhouse (Clerkenwell – quirky fun interior & great cocktails)
B&H Buildings (Finsbury – Fancy cocktails in the loveliest of interiors. They also serve mean brunch.)
The Punchbowl (Mayfair – on weekends)
Graphic (Soho – fantastic gin selection and great music in the late afternoon)

Coffee
Story Coffee (in Battersea, London’s sweetest little coffee shop with amazing fresh food)
Beany Green
(several locations, but I love the one off the Paddington canal)
Brickwood (several locations, but I like the one in Clapham Common)
Fix 126 (Shoreditch – everything is good, but they make a killer chai latte)
Holborn Grind (of all the Grinds, this one is my fav)

Afternoon Tea
The Ampersand Hotel (Fell in love with their white chocolate scones and beautiful decor)
The Orangery (Dine like a royal & affordable compared to other teas in town)
Brown’s Hotel (Old school in the best of ways with some of the best service I’ve seen)
